Posting
So I went back through my dashboard and realized I had started a post back in March and never finished out posted it. I don't know how THAT happened. The gist of it was "OH-MY-GOD-I'M-TEACHING-TAE-KWON-DO-NOW!"
Yep... and a few months later I'm proud to say that the group I had look pretty. darn. good. If I do say so myself. Master Kight is busy cutting hay, so we were down to one instructor. So one of the adult men got to teach the white belts, and I got the 18 students moving up from white belt to yellow stripe. The irony of it is that I HATE the yellow stripe pattern, Chon Ji Tul. I mean, obviously since I've been teaching it, I'm now really good at it. I've been asked to teach the new yellow stripes again beginning next week, so I must have done a decent job. I was pretty proud of them when I watched them try for their grading invitations. Several of them got their invitations the first go 'round. Couldn't say that about other belt levels... oh yeah, I'm totally boasting about my teaching ability and my students that completely rock! I think it's because I'm such a perfectionist and made them do those walking stances over and over again until they got it right. And a lot of them really are just talented and only needed me to tell them what to do. There's only one that I wish I had more time with, but she's like 6, so I don't think it's a big deal that she's not perfect. My adults are the bomb though. Really, I think they're the best in the school. And I'm not saying that cause I taught them the pattern, they just really ARE that good. I wish I could move up with them to Dan Gun Tul, which is my favorite pattern (so far).
